Cry of the Wounded Hunter

Most men lead lives of quiet desperation. - Henry David Thoreau

Love is something I've got to be able to see;
talking about it don't do too much for me,
cause most of what I see people do,
don't match up with their words.

Love is something I've got to be able to feel;
someone I can touch something I know is real.
But people keep their distance these days;
they don't get too close.

Love is something I've got to be able to share
cause livin' life alone just leads to doubt and despair.
Oh sometimes I've been so alone
so empty inside.

People who need love sometimes we wear a disguise
so that when we're in a crowd, no-one will recognize
how desperately our hearts hunger for
a love we don't deserve.

Just as I am with only one plea:
a love I can see.
