Poems

The first version of this poem I wrote as an assignment in Mrs. Miracle’s English Literature classroom at Lawton’s Eisenhower High School sometime around 1974. I was sixteen years old.

Migrations

Time moves
as the wind moves,
and we move with the wind.

Warmth grows
and then warmth goes,
as seasons begin and end.

Somehow
time to move now;
we know from deep within.

We roam,
never long home,
before we must move on again.
